Rank: 1st Degree Black Belt
I started training in Taekwondo in 1993 under Mr Andrew Shukokai Karate, achieving the grade of purple belt.
After my first lesson in Taekwondo I knew it was the fighting style for me, it seemed to suit my character and personality.
Under Mr Murrays supervision I went on to achieve many sparring titles, Mr Murray also encouraged me to attend classes with his instructor Mr Kim Stones which I gladly did. I gained my black belt whilst training with Mr Andrew Chambers in Huddersfield.
Achievements:
There has also been numerous local/inter county Championships gaining 1st and 2nd places.
I was a member of the AIMAA England team from 1997 and became the team captain from 1998 – 2000.
The one achievement that I am most proud of would be that I never lost a bout during my time with the England team, even in Germany when the team was given fizzy drinks and pretzels then told to fight, very funny trip!
